Robotics is one of the bases of technological progress in XXI century. Development of robots is a complex problem that includes a development of sensors, information-and-control systems, actuators. This problem in its wide sense is an interdisciplinary one. It embraces interests of all machine-building and instrument-making branches being as customers as manufacturers. Nowadays a state of robotics is an important indicator of scientific, industrial, social, and defense potential of every country. Not without reason Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation called robotics as one of advanced directions of the development of science and technology in the Russian Federation in his Message to the Federal Assembly on May 10, 2006. Mechatronics appeared as a result of fusion of electromechanics and microelectronics with the aim of creation of fundamentally new automatic systems of very different application, which beforehand were technically unrealizable. That is why the mehcatronic technologies are included in the List of Critical Technologies of Russian Federation. The Exhibition-Congress “Mechatronics and Robotics (M&R-2007)” shall demonstrate in details the achievements of interconnected and interpenetrative branches of science and technology (mechatronic technologies and robot-building). It shall give a possibility for specialists to discuss scientific ideas. Thus the double goal of the Exhibition-Congress is an analysis of the achievements in the fields of mechatronics and robotics and a detection of tendencies of their development.
